Welcome to the department of Mechanical engineering at SANT GAJANAN MAHARAJ RURAL Polytechnic, Mahagaon. The Department of Mechanical engineering was started in the year 2009. Mechanical Engineering happens to be the back bone of any industry with amazing versatility. The department of Mechanical Engineering strives to train students in mechanical engineering as well as application of these engineering methods to conceive, organize and carry out scientific design of engineering system. The department has well-equipped labs to impart sound practical knowledge of the subject and is mainly supported by Applied Mechanics which caters subjects like, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Dynamics of Machinery, Engineering Mechanics & drawing.

backed by the Central Workshop facilities for providing hands-on training in the conventional machining and other traditional trades like Smithy, Welding, Fitting, Carpentry, and CNC. To motivate the students the department provides innovative ideas in the recent fields of Mechanical engineering by conducting training in hardware, arranges workshop, Seminars, Guest Lectures and Industrial visits and National Level Technical Symposium.

The department has dedicated and competent faculty members to impart quality education, project guidance, personality development to enable them to be placed with a reputed organizations.

Milestone

Department secured Very Good grading by M.S.B.T.E in academic years.

Students of Mechanical Engineering department participated in National Level Robotics Symposium in collaboration with ARK techno-solutions, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras and secure first prize.

Students of Mechanical Engineering department participated in IIT Pawai Project Exhibition 2015-16 and secured IInd Price (Runner up).
